Workplace FEARS

In the work that I do with individuals and teams I see such a divide between what people think and what they actually do. I am fascinated by why we create obstacles and barriers to the very things we have thought, planned and in most cases know will make us happy, peaceful, successful and content. Common sense does not always prevail. We allow our FEAR to control our actions.

Have a look at the 4 listed workplace fears below. Find out what is preventing you from acting on your thoughts in order to make better decisions, choose positive situations and/or experience the life you want.

4 common workplace FEARS

1. Change

  • How do you view change?
  • How do you adapt to change?
  • How will the change benefit you?
  • What will I have to CONTINUE to do, STOP doing and START doing as a result of the change?
  • Think of a time when change offered you positive results.

2. Lack of resources

  • Clarify what the resource is:
  • Time?
  • Money?
  • Equipment?
  • People?
  • How does it affect you?
  • What is the solution? OR is it just an excuse?

3. Conflict

  • Isolate the conflict
  • Internal?
  • Interpersonal?
  • External?
  • What is YOUR role in this conflict?
  • How can you offer a different energy to the person or

    situation?

4. Bureaucracy

  • What is the framework you have to work within?
  • How much freedom do you have?
  • How can your individual talents and skills make an impact?
